About me
My passion for coaching comes from a fascination with leadership and people over the last 25 years of my career
Fascination with leadership
It all started a little over 25 years ago. I was a year into my first permanent job in the City of London and my boss told me to start managing people! Although I knew many of the technical aspects of my job, I wondered how do you manage people well – let alone lead them?
I’ve been fascinated ever since by this mysterious thing called leadership. If it’s so important, why do so many of us struggle with it? How do we get better at it? How do we get the best out of everyone we interact with, not just our teams but other stakeholders? And what part do values play in all of this? Coaching can help each leader to fulfil their potential as they create individual answers to these crucial questions that are congruent with who they are in an authentic sense.
Industry experience, coaching, mentoring and not-for-profit
As well as learn about the theory and the art of coaching, I’ve developed an approach which draws upon my extensive and varied experience as a leader and a person in a range of often demanding roles, organisations and countries.
Please see my LinkedIn profile here for more details of my experience, including the senior positions I’ve held, the teams I’ve led, the committees I’ve chaired and the C-suite level executives I’ve worked with – in financial services and development institutions alike, mainly in London but I’ve also worked in the US, Spain and Luxembourg. In addition to this, I’ve held mentoring roles for over 15 years and not-for-profit committee roles since 2008.
