How I coach
I will use all of my knowledge, skill and energy as both a coach and a leader in service of your accelerated growth, insights and goals. When working in an organisation, we can work with the sponsor to agree goals in the context of the organisation, its strategy and culture.
The coaching will be carefully tailored to your needs in terms of number and length of sessions and, only if it’s helpful to you, we can work together to help you to reflect on the results of psychometric assessments and 360 feedback.
Importantly, we are working together as partners, with me listening very attentively and without judgement, observing and reflecting back what I notice, and asking powerful questions, offering a different perspective, sometimes helping you to reframe a situation, so that you can get to the heart of the matter as quickly as possible, gain valuable insights and awareness and agree practical steps to move forward with more energy!
I really like the following definition of coaching from Jenny Rogers’s book on Coaching Skills:
‘Coaching is the art of facilitating another person’s learning, development, wellbeing and performance. Coaching raises self-awareness and identifies choices. Through coaching, people are able to find their own solutions, develop their own skills, and change their attitudes and behaviours. The whole aim of coaching is to close the gap between people’s potential and their current state’.
Between sessions I will share with you any resources that I have which I believe will serve you well, including links to videos and learning platforms – and I also love to share ideas for books that I think will help you with your personal development.
I am an ILM Level 7 Accredited Executive Coach and an EMCC Accredited Coach at Senior Practitioner level.
I am bound by the Global Code of Ethics of the Association for Coaching available here.
